Testimonials

"Deborah at Enthralling Ink put a mountain of knowledge and experience to use while reading my manuscript.

I sent her my 119k word document, and she had a full report, chapter summary, and comments within the document ready for me 18 days later. This included an overview of structure and plot, plot twists I had specifically asked for feedback on, character arcs, world building, and narrative. To say she helped guide my plot would be a massive understatement. Though she offered a critical analysis of my work, she remained supportive throughout the process, and I can sense the love she has for what she does through her encouragement as well as any criticism she had, the perfect combination for a hopeful, budding author.

Deborah skillfully brought my attention to important areas that needed more development, as well as areas that I could consider cutting down. A writer bias is a true thing, and I know I couldn’t have seen some of the glaring issues without her help. She chatted back and forth with me afterword, letting me brainstorm alongside her intuition to resolve any lingering insecurities I have about my manuscript.

I specifically found her feedback on my plot resolution/book ending useful. Deborah suggested writing an epilogue to help soften my major cliffhanger in a way I hadn't considered, referencing another series as an example (even going as far as quoting passages from the book to make her point land). Her advice is clear and easy to follow, and she immediately had wheels turning in my head.

I’m so excited about the direction my book is now taking and definitely plan to work with Deborah in the future."

"The feedback was insightful and helpful. It gave me visibility if the right key points about plot, setting, and characters got across to the reader, which gave me a sense of relief that it did at this point in my editing process. Loved the story map! Seeing someone that isn't me putting it all down gave me that added clarity."

"Deborah is such a remarkable and gifted author in her own right, that she has been able to share her incredible wisdom and knowledge in the literary field towards her in-depth feedback for my manuscript. She is very supportive of her clients, helping them on their way through their writing journey - including mine. Thank you so much Deborah for your help!"

"When I initially started looking for an editor for my project, I was honestly afraid that I wouldn't be able to find someone that was affordable or would give the type of feedback I needed. Thankfully, I found Deborah, and right from the start, she was very respectful, professional, and kind.

I ended up getting a Manuscript Evaluation done on my manuscript. She gave me updates throughout our time working together, so that I would have a good understanding of when to expect my manuscript and editorial letter back, which I found to be very thoughtful. Her rates are affordable compared to some of the other editors in the market, and her editing work was extremely high quality and thorough. Each point she made about my work, whether it was a question or a critique, never made me doubt my own abilities, and only helped point me towards solutions.

I really appreciated the level of care she put into my editorial letter, as she addressed all the concerns I had, pointed out some things I had missed, and helped show me where my strengths were. Having an editor that cares about your manuscript as much as you do is a must, which is why Deborah was the perfect choice."
